04/03/26

High quality personal protective healthcare equipment is crucial, whether you’re a care home manager, senior nurse, procurement lead or domiciliary care provider. The products you choose directly impact infection control, compliance and the safety of vulnerable individuals.

Supporting the care sector with dependable disposable gloves, PPE and hygiene essentials, our reputation is underpinned by strong ethical and environmental values.

The History of Gloveman Supplies

With a clear focus on supplying high quality gloves and essential hygiene products to UK businesses; Gloveman Supplies was established in 2003 as a three-man operation. Shortly after the company formed, we were acquired by the multi-national manufacturer Lalan Rubber PVT, bringing international expertise and long-term strategic growth. Gloveman now operates from two sites, in Cornwall and Suffolk, supplying customers nationwide.

The company’s core mission remains unchanged: infection control and personal safety are at the forefront of the business. For organisations managing strict CQC requirements and internal compliance procedures, a blend of specialist knowledge and global manufacturing capability provides the reassurance required in care environments.

Focus on Infection Control in Care Settings

Hand protection is essential. Disposable gloves act as a primary barrier against cross-contamination, protecting both staff and residents. Gloveman Supplies understands the operational realities of care work. Our selection of nitrile gloves, latex gloves and vinyl gloves is designed to meet varied clinical and non-clinical demands. They remain convenient, budget-friendly and effective across medical tasks.

Nitrile gloves offer excellent resistance to oils and chemicals; latex provides superior flexibility and tactile sensitivity, supporting fine motor tasks that require precision; vinyl gloves offer a cost-effective solution for frequent glove changes and lower-risk activities. For carers managing allergies among staff or residents, we provide latex-free and powder-free alternatives. This ensures every care setting can maintain strong infection control standards without compromising comfort or safety.

If your organisation is considering where to buy disposable gloves with confidence, we provide a dependable and ethically driven solution for today’s care sector.

Comprehensive Product Range

Although gloves are central to the brand, Gloveman Supplies provides a broad portfolio tailored to care environments. Our range includes disposable gloves, infection control products, polythene disposables, paper disposables, hygiene wipes, first aid supplies, incontinence products, housekeeping supplies and toiletries. Each product supports daily operations within residential care homes, nursing homes and community care settings.

Our glove selection includes products tested to EN455 and EN374 standards with clearly defined AQL levels. Surface finishes vary between textured gloves for improved grip and control, and smooth finishes suited to laboratory and medical tasks.

Latex Sourcing and Plantation Ownership

A defining strength of Gloveman Supplies lies in our association with Lalan Plantations Ltd. The group holds a long-term sub-lease until 2045 to manage plantations across four regions in Sri Lanka - Mahaoya, Pitiyakanda, Sapumalkanda and Udabage.

Across 13 estates spanning approximately 17,000 acres, the group operates the largest rubber nursery in Sri Lanka, producing more than 500,000 rubber plants annually. Strict procedures govern the sourcing of latex from these plantations, the UK-based supply operation of Gloveman Supplies and the manufacturing of gloves to correct safety standards. This end-to-end control ensures consistently high quality gloves for the UK healthcare sector.

For procurement managers, traceability and supply chain reliability are essential considerations, particularly in light of recent global disruptions. Gloveman’s integrated model offers long-term stability and quality assurance.

Factory Standards and Quality Control

The group’s seven factories employ skilled professionals from multiple disciplines and produce a wide range of products including household, industrial, chemical-resistant, seamless and medical-grade gloves. Collectively, these factories manufacture and export more than one billion gloves annually.

All factories are certified to ISO, BRC, BSCI and Sedex standards. Chemicals used in production conform to REACH requirements, and finished gloves meet FDA, CE, EN and ASTM standards. This provides care & food industry buyers with the confidence that our products align with recognised safety frameworks.

An independent central laboratory acts as a quality control body. Raw materials are tested before entering the manufacturing process, and once gloves are produced, samples undergo further testing for thickness faults, tensile strength, holes and weak points. Only after passing these stringent checks are the gloves released for final packing and export.

Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability

Gloveman Supplies conducts business with a transparent and sustainable approach. By supporting local communities and protecting Sri Lankan ecosystems, the group works to enhance quality of life and safeguard the environment. Employees receive regular training and periodical medical checks, along with access to hospitals and aftercare facilities. Housing, schools and welfare shops are provided across estates, supporting long-term community development.

Sustainability initiatives align with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Extensive rainwater harvesting and recycling systems have reduced the water footprint by more than 25% under the Global Water Footprint Standard. Solar panels generate more than 4.5 megawatts of energy annually, with unused power being returned to the national grid. Biomass energy has reduced fossil fuel use by 24 million litres per year.

Conservation and replanting programmes add some 110,000 trees annually, supported by certifications such as ISO 14001 and FSC Forest Management Certification. Waste from latex processing is recycled and upcycled into products such as shoe soles and floor mats. Partnering with a supplier committed to sustainable manufacturing supports wider ESG objectives.

Innovation in Glove Design

Gloveman continues to evolve its product range. The Gloveman G32 nitrile powder-free royal blue glove is a 3.2g stretch nitrile option. Positioned between the GN300 and G35 ranges, it offers balanced durability and flexibility for everyday care tasks.

Our new Crystal Vinyl glove range provides an affordable yet high-performance solution. Powder- and latex-free, they are food safe, non-sterile and ambidextrous, with an ultra-smooth surface and beaded cuff. As a Class 1 Medical Registered Device conforming to EN455 Parts 1 to 4 with an AQL of 1.5, they are suitable for regulated healthcare environments.

Streamlined Ordering with VIP Online Accounts

For larger care groups or multi-site providers, procurement efficiency is essential. The Gloveman VIP online account system enables customers to view negotiated pricing, download invoices and statements, review order history and repeat purchases with ease.
