Are any of the glove’s reusable/recyclable?

None of the Vinyl, Latex, Nitrile, Synthetic, Vynite gloves are designed to be reusable and we would advise not to do so. Generally, they are not recycled in local authorities because the recycling process is quite complicated, however, there are online companies that can recycle the gloves. As they are used for medical practices, it’s not advised that gloves used for these purposes are recycled as they should be disposed of after use.

What makes a glove food safe?

It is important to ensure that the food is protected against contact with your hands, but also that it is protected against any materials leaching from the gloves and any allergen this could cause for people. Latex, although they are food safe because of the treatment and manufacturing process are advised not to suitable because they may cause an allergic reaction in people eating food prepared by them. Nitrile and Vinyl gloves are the best choices for food preparation.

What does AQL mean?

The Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) is an internationally recognised quality standard designed to assess the statistical quality control of products such as medical protective gloves. The lower the number the lower chance there is for defects. So AQL 1.5 means that there is a 1.5% chance of a defect in the batch of gloves.

What does the EN standards on the gloves mean?

Gloves must be tested to a certain standard to achieve an EN rating. The EN rating is a set of European standards to ensure products adhere to a certain quality. The main EN ratings for gloves are EN455 and EN374 and are therefore the gloves are registered as a Class 1 Medical Device. For more information please visit our Standards and Markings Guide
